Flink establishes as pioneer of financial democratization in Mexico by launching fractional share trading model

  • According to a study carried out by Flink to 528 of its users, 76% of them are interested in entering the investment market.
  • 94% of the users stated that they would invest if there were a tool that helps their money grow.

México. June 25th, 2020. With the arrival of the new era in the goods and services industry supported by digital technology, many companies from different fields have revolutionized their operations as well as their solutions. In the financial field, Flink, the Mexican leader in digital banking, launched its fractional share trading service in its platform in which, from 1.32 dollars (30 Mexican pesos), the user (flinker) can buy a part of a share in some of the biggest brands around the world.

With this, Flink became the first fintech app to provide bigger access to the investment market in Mexico, since only four out of a thousand people make an investment, according to data from the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, making the platform a pioneer of financial democratization through technology.

This program started its development in early January and, since then, has generated a high expectation among fintech users. Until today, a total of 550k people are registered on the waiting list in order to use Flink's fractional share trading service.

How will this service work? Through an accessible, intuitive and, above all, fun digital interface, people will be able to invest in more than 200 companies in real time on the New York Stock Exchange, by purchasing shares fractions of big multinational companies such as Tesla, Amazon, Zoom, Snapchat, Netflix, Spotify, Disney, Shopify, among others. 

The fractional investment in Flink has a number of benefits for the user, including the following:

  • The ability to choose how much money they want to invest, starting from 1.32 dollars (30 Mexican pesos).
  • Users will have set the rules of their money and can build an investment portfolio using fractional shares from different companies.
  • Customers will be able to get personalized notifications, allowing them to monitor their investments and they will have instant mobile access to investment markets so they can trade in real time.

Due to the high demand of users looking to invest with this model, the release of the service will be gradual, carried out in groups of 30 to 50k persons according to the waiting list, and every day, starting from the launching date (June 24th), new users will be released.

With this movement, Flink strengthens its digital banking offer, adding another valuable service to its platform. In addition to payment services, transfers and goal-based budgeting and saving tools through a digital account that can be opened in a few minutes, and an International Mastercard that is delivered in few days, Flink takes a great step to become the digital bank form young Mexicans and also a pillar company of the fintech industry looking towards the boom of the services digitization that results of the new post pandemic reality.
